Cleveland Browns general manager Tom Heckert defended his decision to select RB Montario Hardesty (knee) despite his injury history, according to Mary Kay Cabot, of the Cleveland Plain Dealer. However, Heckert admitted the move was risky. 'Was it riskier than a guy that had never been injured?' Heckert said. 'Yeah, but we felt comfortable when we took him that he was going to be OK. We obviously brought him in for physicals and we spent a lot of time with our doctors, and we felt comfortable doing that.' Our View: Hardesty has an elite skill set and could play at a very high level in the NFL if he stays healthy. Durability has always been a major concern with him and we won't get to see him back on the football field until next year.
