In 2009, the premier high stakes fantasy football contest, the Fantasy Football Players Championship (FFPC) teamed up with FantasyMojo.com to create a new expert contest. Since then, what has become known as the FFPC Pros vs Joes Challenge has blossomed into into a full blown feature competition. The Pros vs Joes concept is simple: take a group of hard core FFPC fantasy players (the Joes) and pit them against a contingent of fantasy industry experts (the Pros). The result is a fierce competition ...
We've made it a routine here at FantasyMojo.com to provide the league history of the FFPC and Footballguys Players Championship contests over the past few years.
That information is provided in an easy to navigate format, so if you've participated in those events, or are just curious to peruse the results, that data is now available.
It's never too early to get a jump on fine tuning your draft skills and rankings for the 2013 season. The drafting season has officially kicked off now that the NFL draft is behind us. During the week of July 23rd through July 28th, eleven drafts were conducted as part of the Pros vs Joes draft challenge. These drafts were comprised of some of the best minds that fantasy football has to offer.
We have extracted, from those drafts, comprehensive average draft position data. Though this data is based on the FFPC format, and the drafts were a best ball format, they should prove very valuable to any player getting ready to draft, as we enter the peak fantasy draft season in August. ...
Our initial release of preseason rankings is out. Aaron Rodgers is the obvious number 1 overall for QB's. The Packer schedule is cake, so unless he gets hurt, there's no reason to believe he wouldn't finish as the top QB once again.
On the opposite side of the spectrum, we've got Ryan Tannehill. But for Tannehill, it's all about his wife, which gives us a legitimate reason to use a picture of her as the photo for this posting. Tremendous eye candy. Thumbs up from Lauren Ufer. She just hit ...
It's championship week, and we have released our week 16 rankings. Cam Newton is at the top of the QB list with a creampuff matchup against the Tampa Bay Bucs.
And that means it's time to set your lineups in your assortment of leagues, but don't forget that
you can also participate in weekly games here at FantasyMojo.com. This is our second season of offering the weekly

Here is our latest installment of high stakes ADP data, derived from the Footballguys Players Championship drafts held on Tuesday, August 23rd. There were 6 drafts conducted that evening, and they were in the FFPC scoring format (dual flex, 1.5 ppr for TE).
Footballguys Players Championship draft review from 9/4 added
This year we are going to give readers a peek into the draft season for FantasyMojo.com . We participate in a variety of leagues including private money leagues (some with tough competition and other local ones where the dope factor is apparent), national high stakes leagues, and an assortment of expert leagues.
We're on schedule for about 15 or so leagues right now, so new ones will be added as they kick ...
Over the course of the 4 nights in late July, the best minds in fantasy football went head to head in the Pros vs Joes drafts. Industry experts against the high stakes players of the FFPC. Pride and prizes are on the line.
We have compiled the data across the six drafts conducted to produce and ADP chart that not only shows the players selected, but also list the exact position each player was selected in each draft.
After participating in many preseason mock drafts, reviewing rookie team situations, and pouring over the 2010 game by game stats, we've finally released our first cut of the 2011 Fantasy Football Player Rankings (position players only). As we worked our way through the players, it is painfully obvious that there are a ton of question marks right now because of the CBA. The rankings are located:
The 2011 Pros vs Joes Draft Challenge is on! The FFPC (Fantasy Football Players Championship) and FantasyMojo.com have once again combined forces to conduct one of the premier expert leagues in the industry today.
The concept is simple. Take a group of hard core FFPC high stakes fantasy football players (the Joes) and pit them against a contingent of fantasy industry experts (the Pros). We will have at least 84 teams participating this year (half pros and half Joes). The overall field is divided ...
In a fantasy world that currently lacks the preseason activity we expect this time of year, we've uncovered another high quality mock for you to review. This one was a full 22 round PPR draft conducted by the staff at Footballguys.com . Here is the draft board (using our exclusive MyFantasyLeague draft grid / results color utility):
Well, there's still not a lot of activity in the fantasy football world with the lockout still ongoing, but there are pockets of activity worthy of passing along to those that want some real ADP to check out.
These results are from the FFPC. They recently conducted their second satellite draft of the year. This one is a $150 league, and was conducted on Thursday, June 2nd. For your viewing pleasure, here are the results:
Check out the results from a real draft conducted recently over at the FFPC on May 14th. It's from their Genesis draft, which is traditionally their first live online draft of the year. Get some REAL ADP where real money is on the line!
The NFL draft is over so it is time for FantasyMojo to come out of hibernation and get going on the 2011 Fantasy Football Season! (We're hoping the season gets started as scheduled, but we'll roll with the punches!)
The first quality expert draft of the year reflecting the fantasy impacts of the 2011 rookie class is in the books. This draft was conducted May 3rd by MyFantasyLeague.com and the participants are some of the more notable names in the fantasy football industry.

FantasyMojo.com is hoping you are gearing up for a Week 16
Championship game in at least one of your leagues.
If not, just a reminder that fantasy football is still alive and well
for those who want to participate in the daily and weekly contests
being offered at FantasyMojo.com .
A home matchup against the reeling Vikings makes for a fantasy bonanza for the Eagles passing game. We have Jeremy Maclin AND DeSean Jackson inside our top 10 for this week.
People know the name, but definitely not the face. Check out this video of Danny Woodhead posing as a Modell's employee trying to sell Woodhead jerseys. Pretty unreal that the people buying the jersey don't even recognize that the player whose jersey they are buying is standing right there selling it to him.
FantasyMojo.com is hoping you are gearing up for a Week 16
Championship game in at least one of your leagues.
If not, just a reminder that fantasy football is still alive and well
for those who want to participate in the daily and weekly contests
being offered at FantasyMojo.com .
As a special holiday bonus, the offer of a free $6 game to all new
registered users has been extended during Week 16.
Hakeem Nicks takes the top spot at receiver with a juicy matchup against the Eagles at home, and Steve Smith out for the Giants. He'll pick up the slack for Smith and then some.
Week 14 rankings are up and running, just in time for the Thursday night game.
Red Alert with Brodie Croyle in at QB this week for the Chiefs. He essentially kills the value of all Chief players during this important playoff week. Jamaal Charles may be the only salvageable player here as the Chiefs likely play from behind and Charles catches a bunch of dump offs in the process.
Participate in the new Daily Contests this week for FREE. No Risk!
Last week we announced that FantasyMojo.com was now partnering with 365FantasySports to offer daily/weekly fantasy contests. If you didn't make the cut for the playoffs in your leagues, YOUR SEASON IS NOT OVER!!! You can still win cash playing fantasy football.
To help everyone get familiar with how the contests work, a FREE to enter contest has been set up this week in the contest lobby of our Daily Fantasy Games ...
With Kerry Collins back in at QB, we think this is the week that Randy Moss is startable for your team and should put up some decent numbers. Perhaps just in time for that playoff push.
All week 13 rankings can be checked out out HERE ...
The Cleveland Browns Defense is our Number 1 unit this week as the rotating carousel of brutal quarterbacks from Carolina pays a visit to the dawg pound.
All week 12 rankings can be checked out out HERE ...
After tallying the projections, the man beast Peyton Hillis shows up as our number 1 running back for Week 11 against a generous Jacksonville Jaguars defense.
All week 11 rankings can be checked out out HERE ...
With Thursday games kicking off this week, we have early Week 10 Rankings up and running. There are a lot of injury and roster situations up in the air, but we'll adjust these moving forward throughout the week.
Mike Williams of Tampa Bay is our Week 10 poster child. He cracks our top 5 list of wide receivers as the Bucs play a reeling Carolina team at home. Easy points for Mr. Williams.
With Peyton Manning ringing up the points on the questionable Eagles secondary, Michael Vick will be slinging it around to keep up in a high scoring affair. We've got DeSean Jackson AND Jeremy Maclin inside our top ten receivers this week. Should be an entertaining game. Play'em if you got'em.
All week 9 rankings can be checked out out HERE ...
With Week 8 of the NFL season in the books, we are officially at the halfway point of the 2010 Pros vs Joes Draft Challenge.
As a quick refresher, this is a Draftmasters league format, and we conducted 8 separate, 12 team drafts, comprised of 48 players
(the Joes) from the FFPC and 48 industry experts (the Pros).
The drafts were conducted back in late
July, so there was plenty of opportunity to draft 'ahead of the curve' before ADP and roster situations started to stabilize
during the ...
With the Raiders at home versus a Seattle team that struggles on the road, look for Zach Miller to post the top numbers of all tight ends this week. Injuries to Oakland wideouts leave them with very little to lean on in the passing game, so expect a heavy dose of Zach Attack.
All week 8 rankings can be checked out out HERE ...
Our week 6 poster boy is Big Ben (at least that's what the ladies like to call him).
With Roethlisberger back in the saddle, all the Steeler receiving options get a boost in value, and they have a cake matchup at home versus Cleveland to help even more.
There are quite a few injuries floating around out there that still need clarity,
but we have taken our best guess thus far as to who will and will not play.
Our week 5 poster boy is Frank Gore.
With the 49ers needing a win badly and the Eagles coming across the country to play them at home, we think Frank Gore continues his impressive run this year. The Eagles simply cannot stop the run, and there should be plenty of points scored in this one.
Here are our predictions for Week 1 on the players who should perform above current expectations, based on the match ups for the week. These guys are looking exceedingly attractive based up this week's circumstances.
Quarterback:
Derek Anderson - We really like Anderson here in Week 1, against a shaky Rams defense, to come out and justify his selection as the starting QB for the Cards. If your number 1 QB has a shaky matchup to start off the season, perhaps ...
On Friday night (8/27), FantasyMojo.com will again participate in the $500 entry FFPC "Big Payback" Satellite league, to be broadcast live BlogTalkRadio.com, hosted by RedvsBlue Sports Talk Radio. We've got the 3 pick so I can guarantee you Steven Jackson won't be on our team again (OUCH!).
If you want the freshest snapshot of where players are going (especially in an FFPC or Footballguys Players Championship format), you need to check out this draft. You can listen to the broadcast live or ...
If you are participating, or thinking of participating in the FootballGuys Players Championship, you'll be interested in the draft going on Friday night at 10PM EST. This draft, which we are participating in with the #2 pick, is going to be broadcast LIVE on the Red vs Blue High Stakes Fantasy Football Blogtalkradio show. Tune in to hear us get jeered or cheered as we go head to head with some of the bigger names in high stakes fantasy football. Should be a great way to get some valuable ADP for ...
This past week FantasyMojo.com conducted the Pros vs Joes drafts in conjunction with the FFPC (Fantasy Football Players Championship). The draft participants consisted of industry experts, and experienced high stakes fantasy players from the FFPC. The scoring system and roster configurations in these leagues is identical to the ones used by the FFPC themselves, as well as the Footballguys Players Championship.
In this article, we break down 25 rounds of action in a recently completed slow draft based on FFPC Scoring. FFPC is a PPR hybrid where you receive 1.5 points per reception for tight end, and there is a Dual Flex option which allows you many options at your core positions. Our analysis is HERE! ...
FantasyMojo.com continues to update our player rankings in the preseason as the latest news continues to trickle in. Activity around Housh, Rackers, Hardesty, and all the others is reflected in the rankings.

This time of year we are all getting our draft
boards together, reviewing players, fine tuning our rankings, and doing some mock drafts (you should be if you are not).
Out of this comes some draft strategy, and we jump into our drafts trying to follow that strategy so some degree. However, let's not forget what this is all about: WINNING THE LEAGUE . And how
do you win your league? WINNING THE PLAYOFFS.
So it's an eye on the prize approach that you must take, and this needs ...
Forecasting the success of running backs during the preseason has become increasingly difficult over the past 3 years. This may be the reason it seems, you are seeing more wide receivers taken in the early parts of fantasy drafts. In general, the top 10 wide receivers provide a much safer return on your investment than the top ten running backs.
The chart below shows the top 10 players drafted at running back and wide receiver over the past 3 years. It also shows where each player ranked at ...
FantasyMojo.com is inviting you to compete against us in the Football Guys Players Championship. The top prize is a guaranteed $50,000. Each 12 team league has a prize pool of $1,950. All prize money is escrowed and guaranteed.

FantasyMojo.com has completed our initial release of running back rankings for 2010. These are fresh out of the oven, with the release of Lendale White factored into the mix. He disappoints yet again!

The FFPC Pros vs Joes competition is ON AGAIN for 2010! Following up a successful 2009 competition, the 2010 event will see significant expansion, as two additional leagues are being added to the competition to make it 8 total. Once again the overall winner will be awarded a fantasy football trophy (this year by Trophies2Go.com), and there are a host of other prizes to be had.
From a fantasy football perspective, the Texans were a great team last year. They had skill players who performed at an elite level, and better yet for us fantasy guys, their offense was very consistent and predictable. The 2009 Texans were consistently great as a passing team (1st in the NFL for passing yards) and consistently terrible as a running team (30th in the NFL). There was no guessing game as to who to start each week. It was apparent very early on that ...
The 2011 NFL Schedule has been released! FantasyMojo.com has put together a fantasy friendly game calendar, highlighting bye weeks, away games, and home games. You can find that grid here.

Over a year ago we posted an article (entitled Doh..Where's my money) regarding the failure of the AFFL to pay out prize money to its overall grand prize winner. What transpired was a change of ownership of the AFFL, and 'credits' issued to participants to play in future events. Now today, it seems that the sad story is repeating itself all over again. An overall grand prize winner of over $60,000, as well as others, have only received partial payment of their winnings for the 2009 season. This is ...

With Donovan McNabb heading to Washington, there is a plethora of fantasy fallout to consider with this move. Let's break it down by player.
Donovan McNabb - We expect McNabb to drop to a high #2 fantasy QB category at this point. With Mike Shanahan running the show, McNabb won't be functioning in a "pass in every situation" offense like he was in Philly. Where McNabb excels is his ability to make plays (which is a quality that Jason Campbell lacks). Don't expect the numbers that he put up ...
Fantasymojo just recently wrapped up our first Expert 2010 Mock Draft. The league was a 6 pt per TD , non-PPR league with roster requirements of :
1 QB
2 RB
2 WR
1 TE
1 Flex (RB or WR)
1 K
1 D
It's of course interesting to see where the players are falling in this standard scoring format, but we are also seeing for the first time where some of the high profile rookies like Dez Bryant and CJ Spiller are projected as well.
It's time to look forward to the 2010 season. In the upcoming months, activity will be light, but check in from time to time. You can expect the following:
Continued reviews of 2010 Fantasy Mock Drafts in a variety of scoring systems
The 2010 FFPC Pros vs Joes Draft Challenge (sponsored by yours truly). We're looking to (hopefully) add a couple additional leagues in this one and pit 48 FFPC players against 48 different Pros from all corners of the fantasy football industry.

With the 2009 season virtually in the books, it's never too early to start thinking about 2010 (for those showing symptoms of withdrawal). And yes, there are already mock drafts being conducted for 2010 by the truly addicted fantasy footballers. If you follow the broadcasts on the Fantasy Sports Channel (FSC.FM), then you're likely familiar with broadcast of FantasyPros911 and Taz's Fantasy Football Roundtable.

After considering the various injury situations, our initial week 16 rankings are up and running.
Brandon Marshall has been a fantasy stud the second half of the season, likely carrying many of his owners to fantasy playoff success. He is our #1 ranked wideout this week, as he travels with Brian Dawkins and the rest of the Broncos to Philly.
After considering the various injury situations, our initial week 15 rankings are up and running.
The Eagles continue to get torched by tight ends on a weekly basis. It's a flat out embarrasment at this point. This week, the king of the TE's gets his shot at the swiss cheese Philly pass defense. It should be fun to watch Asante Samuel try to arm tackle the beast that is Vernon Davis. He could easily get 100+ yards this week, and is the #1 ranked tight end at FantasyMojo.com for week 15.
After considering the various injury situations, our initial week 12 rankings are up and running.
Ricky Williams is our #1 ranked RB this week against a Buffalo team that is one of the worst at stopping the run. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it Ricky!
Recently we did a review of an online daily fantasy sports contest provider, FantasyFactor.com. Soon after that, we were contacted by 365FantasySports.com, asking if we could conduct a similar evaluation. What makes doing an evaluation by FantasyMojo.com unique, is the fact that we're not just high ...
After considering the various injury situations, our initial week 11 rankings are up and running, a bit earlier than usual due to the Thursday night game.
Kurt Warner comes back to St. Louis to relive his glory days in a juicy matchup against the Rams. He is the #1 ranked QB this week.
Recently, we evaluated a new player in the fantasy gaming market called FantasyFactor.
What attracted us to this game was the application of the Adobe Flex/Air technology to the fantasy gaming space.
(OK, we're tech geeks, and likely none of the rest of you out there give a rat's a** about that angle,
but we always like to keep up on what the rest of the fantasy world is up to.)
We did a similar evaluation of RapidDraft earlier this year ...
After running through this week's matchups, and considering the various injury situations, our initial week 10 rankings are up and running, a bit earlier than usual due to the Thursday night game.
Ray Rice is our #1 overall back as the Ravens look to get back on track in an appetizing matchup against the Cleveland Browns.
The Pros vs Joes Challenge has reached its midway point, having concluded the 1st 8 weeks of its 16 week duration.

After running through this week's matchups, and considering the various injury situations, our initial week 9 rankings are up and running!
MJD should have a really big week to continue his recent roll. He's at home against the sad sack Chiefs, so expect really big things in a game Jacksonville should command.
Here are some DEEP sleepers for Week 7 on the players who should perform well this week based on matchups or injury situations on their teams. If you are in a deep league, and the free agent pool looks like a skeleton, give these guys consideration.
Quarterback:
Matt Cassel - Cassel is starting to come on, and is clicking well now with Dwayne Bowe. Remember that Cassell missed a good bit of time during training camp and the beginning of the season, so it's ...
After running through this week's matchups, and considering the various injury situations, our initial week 4 rankings are up and running! Carson Palmer is our #1 QB for Week 4. See all the rest of the rankings!
Here are our predictions for Week 2 on the players who should perform above current expectations, based on the match ups for the week. If you are lacking depth at a particular position, and have to choose from a group of players who "all look the same", give these guys consideration.
Quarterback:
Trent Edwards - The Tampa Bay Bucs should put up little resistance on the road at Buffalo. The Bills will be looking to get that passing game going, and in the process, ...
Here are our predictions for Week 1 on the players who should perform above current expectations, based on the match ups for the week. If you are lacking depth at a particular position, and have to choose from a group of players who "all look the same", give these guys consideration.
Quarterback:
Matt Hasselbeck - An enticing matchup at home against the Rams smells like points. Plus, he'll never be as healthy to start a game as he is this week, so concerns about ...
As we near the end of draft season, we thought it would be useful to share with you the results of an ongoing slow draft that FantasyMojo
is currently participating in. For those of you unfamiliar with slow drafts, this type of draft is conducted over a period of days,
with each team given 12 hours or so to make their pick. And for better or worse, you can sit back and really contemplate what to do with your pick,
unlike a live draft where you are under the gun. (Though sometimes you may ...
We are officially two weeks away from the kickoff of the NFL season opening game. The FantasyMojo.com crew will be in Las Vegas that weekend, fully enjoying all that Vegas has to offer (various acts of debauchery) as well as a heavy dose of fantasy football, high stakes style with our entry in the FFPC Main Event.
Before we get to some of our Buy Low players, we'd like to recap some of our more unique offerings. Given that a lot ...
On Friday night (8/21), FantasyMojo.com participated in the $500 entry FFPC "Big Payback" Satellite league, which was broadcast live on BlogTalkRadio.com, hosted by RedvsBlue Sports Talk Radio.

This weekend marks the beginning of the heavy drafting season in fantasy football circles across the country. Hopefully you've done your due diligence with respect to putting together a rankings sheet so you are prepared. Depending on the level of competition in your draft, maybe you don't need to do that much prep. Every situation is different. Don't forget to check the latest news and notes before your draft starts. Injuries can come out of left field, on very short notice, so this last minute ...
Now normally we wouldn't be so worked up over a preseason game, but the Eagles and Patriots have a lot of significant fantasy players that people would want some info on, and we have a live local feed here at our disposal. Here's our "twitter style" thoughts on this matchup as the game progresses.
We're not even through the first batch of preseason games, and we have some significant injuries to consider. If you are participating in drafts this early in the preseason, you might be interested in our opinions of the injuries and how they affect the draft positions of the players.
Antonio Bryant - Bryant has a torn meniscus in his left knee, which he just had surgery on to repair. There is talk of him being back for week 4 of preseason, but we were already skeptical of Bryant coming ...
This week, the first three drafts of the FFPC Joes vs Pros Draft Challenge will kick off. A draft will be held on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday night. To review briefly, these drafts pit the players at FFPC (the Joes) against an assortment of industry experts (the Pros). Each league consists of 12 teams which conduct a 26 round draft in a DraftExperts format (best ball scoring). The scoring and lineup configuration is based on FFPC rules. A bundle of prizes and bragging rights are on the line, ...
We've finally had an opportunity to sit down and break down team schedules, in an effort to zero in on which RB's specifically, have better or worse schedules. After all, for the majority of leagues, you're making week to week decisions on which players to insert into your lineup based upon the matchups. And while it's sometimes emphasized that you grab those back who have attractive playoff week matchups, you first have to MAKE the playoffs. With these goals in mind, we've specifically analyzed ...
We recently drafted our team in the 2009 Fantasy Players Network Draft Challenge. This is a competition that we won last year, so we were looking to have a good draft to defend the title. Overall, I think we had a pretty good draft. It was a bit difficult trying to moderate the draft and draft a team at the same time, but having the 12 spot minimized the amount of 'thinking' that we had to do while tending to our admin duties as well. We're only commenting on the first 20 rounds. The last 5 are basically ...
Coming off the heels of a successful 2009 Fantasy Players Network Draft Challenge, FantasyMojo conceived the idea of a similar competition, but this time we wanted to pit some of the fantasy experts out there against some hard core high stakes fantasy players. Thus, the idea was conceived of a Pros vs Joes competition. So where would we get our Joes, we wondered? Well, FantasyMojo.com is a player in the high stakes fantasy football arena, and we play primarily over at the [...Full Article...]
While many fantasy footballers haven't even thought about their upcoming draft(s), FantasyMojo has been extremely active in both the mock draft circles as well as real live leagues. OK, maybe we have an addiction that needs treatment, but it's to your benefit. We thought it might be useful to pass along some interesting trends we are seeing here in the infancy of this new fantasy football year.
1) Wide Receivers are being drafted earlier than ever. It's not uncommon to see 3 or 4 receivers ...
ADP (Average Draft Position) is a useful tool in gauging the current trends in player rankings. But for the most part, these rankings are derived from mock drafts. Wouldn't it be more useful to get a gauge on where players are being drafted when ...
The Fantasy Players Network Draft Challenge is the 'Battle Royal' of Expert Leagues.
Only teams that are a part of the Fantasy Players Network are eligible.
This year we have 36 teams participating. The overall field is divided into 3 separate 'Divisions'. Each division of 12 conducts their own draft. The highest scoring team across the 3 divisions is crowned ...
Brian Westbrook is scheduled for 'minor' ankle surgery on Friday, June 4. Minor or not, he will not be allowed to run for 6-8 weeks. The likely scenario in this case is that he won't be available to run until August 4, and even then, you shouldn't expect him to participate in any meaningful way til the 3rd week of August. You're probably looking at week 3 of the preseason before he sees any kind of competitive action.
So what is the fantasy impact? Well, don't be the guy that drafts Westbrook ...
So we heard about this new 'RapidDraft' fantasy football game. For $4.99 in May (9.99 thereafter), you draft a 20 man roster, in a basic PPR format, in a 12 team league. The thing is that you are drafting against a computer driven by the draft strategies of 11 notable fantasy experts. Also, you get to pick your draft slot, so if you are targeting a specific player in the 1st round, you can essentially guarantee that you will get them. If plays out just like a regular league, once the season starts, ...
The 2009 NFL schedule is out. Having a one page reference of the entire season in a grid format is an extremely helpful tool for any fantasy player. We've created this schedule grid for you, the way we find it most helpful. Bye weeks, home games, and away games are all color coded to give you the ability to grasp a teams schedule at a glance. Print it, post it, use it!
In an otherwise quiet time of the fantasy offseason, we have a blockbuster trade to stir things up temporarily. Jay Cutler for Kyle Orton and a plethora of picks. (Herschel Walker deja vu?) Denver certainly comes away with a basket full of players to work with here. In addition to Kyle Orton, they get a 1st and 3rd round pick in 2009, plus another first rounder in 2010.
From a fantasy perspective, what are the impacts?
Cutler won't have quite the weapons on offense to work with that ...
With free agency in full swing, and a number of interesting trades being made, it's time to start following those moves which have a significant fantasy impact.
FantasyMojo.com has just launched their user forums section, where you can get our take on some of the more notable moves.
Matt Cassell should be moving up on draft charts, now with KC and having stud receivers Dwayne Bowe and Tony Gonzales to throw to. Brian Dawkins should help ...
Many fantasy players extend their season by participating in NFL Playoff Fantasy leagues. There are many formats of these leagues, with variations on roster sizes, drafts, lineup settings, etc. Regardless of the format, the players you want to select are primarily a function of how many games a player's team is expected to go in the playoffs. Based on this assumption, here is FantasyMojo.com's analysis of the playoff teams prospects from a fantasy perspective.
Here are our predictions for Week 16 on a few players who are either under the radar, or are in unusual scenarios this week that put them in a position for some upside. If you are lacking depth at a particular position, give these guys consideration if available
Quarterback:
Marc Bulger - With Steven Jackson back in the mix and providing a running game that has to be respected, Bulger has been having success in the passing game. This week the Rams are at home ...
Here are our predictions for Week 15 on a few players who are either under the radar, or are in unusual scenarios this week that put them in a position for some upside. If you are lacking depth at a particular position, give these guys consideration if available
Quarterback:
J.P. Losman - He's not the greatest QB out there, but Trent Edwards wasn't exactly lighting it up before he got hurt. It's the matchup against the Jets that we like here. On the road against ...
Here are our predictions for Week 14 on a few players who are either under the radar, or are in unusual scenarios this week that put them in a position for some upside. If you are lacking depth at a particular position, give these guys consideration if available
Quarterback:
Shaun Hill - The Jets are terrible against the pass, and the 49ers will be playing at home so weather will not be a factor (important to consider when looking at a lot of the bad weather ...
Here are our predictions for Week 13 on a few players who are either under the radar, or are in unusual scenarios this week that put them in a position for some upside. If you are lacking depth at a particular position, give these guys consideration if available.
Quarterback:
Donovan McNabb - Most people would be scared off of McNabb given his recent turmoil, but there are a lot of motivators for the Eagles in their next game. It's a high profile Thanksgiving ...
One of the bigger stories of the day was the benching of Donovan McNabb during the Philadelphia Eagles embarrassing 36-7 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. Many are wondering if this is the end of the line for McNabb and Reid.
We would call it the "beginning of the end", but in the short term, this may provide an opportunity for fantasy owners to grab McNabb just before a salivating match up at home this Thursday against the Arizona Cardinals. McNabb's value may never be lower. Our early guess ...
Here are our predictions for Week 11 on a few under the radar players who should perform well based on the match ups for the week. If you are lacking depth at a particular position, give these guys consideration if available.
Quarterback:
Shaun Hill - The new starting QB for the 49ers has an attractive matchup this week, at home, against the punchless St. Louis Rams, who should barely put up a fight defensively. In his 3rd week as the starter, the kinks in the ...
Here are our predictions for Week 10 on a few under the radar players who should perform well based on the match ups for the week. If you are lacking depth at a particular position, or on a bye week, give these guys consideration if available.
Quarterback:
Sage Rosenfels - With Matt Schaub out because of an injury, Sage Rosenfels gets the call and steps into this passing friendly offense loaded with weapons. If the Schaub owner in your league fell asleep at ...
Joey Galloway - When Jeff Garcia throws for 300+ yards, playing from behind, and Joey Galloway comes away with one catch for 22 yards, you have to be concerned with his value moving forward. At least with a bye in week 10, you don't have to ponder whether or not using him.
DeSean Jackson - He's still seeing targets in the passing game, but with a healthy Kevin Curtis back in the lineup, that's a big piece of the passing game pie that is off the table for DeSean to benefit from. He's a talent, ...
Time for an update on the FANTASY PLAYERS NETWORK DRAFT CHALLENGE. After Week 8, we have reached the halfway point in this ultimate "Experts League" competition.
Before the season began, twenty four members of the Fantasy Players Network held an online "slow" draft for the inaugural FANTASY PLAYERS NETWORK DRAFT CHALLENGE. The league is a "DraftMasters" or "Best Ball" type of league, where you draft a larger than usual roster of players (25 total), and your weekly lineup is automatically ...
Here are our predictions for Week 8 on the players who should perform above current expectations, based on the match ups for the week. If you are lacking depth at a particular position, or on a bye week, give these guys consideration if available.
Quarterback:
Jeff Garcia - "If it looks like a Rat and it smells like a Rat.... ". Jeff Garcia pays his old pal Terrell Owens a visit as his Tampa Bay Bucs travel to Dallas to play the Cowboys who are in a funk right ...
Some uncharacteristically forthcoming information coming out of Andy Reid during an interview on Sirius NFL radio Wednesday around noon. Andy stated that Westbrook is ready to go and is near 100%. He also stated, however, that he needs to be a better job of rotating "Buck" in there and giving Brian a blow (his words, not ours).
We'd guess Westbrook will be in there this weekend for sure, and based on those comments, you're probably looking at a 75/25 split in favor ...
Here are our predictions for Week 7 on the players who should perform above current expectations, based on the match ups for the week. If you are looking for a bye week fill in, or lack depth at a particular position and have to choose from a group of players who "all look the same", give these guys consideration.
Quarterback:
- We're going to assume that Tony Romo does not play this week. It would seem silly to risk further injury to Tony Romo ...
Here are our predictions for Week 6 on the players who should perform above current expectations, based on the match ups for the week. If you are lacking depth at a particular position, and have to choose from a group of players who "all look the same", give these guys consideration.
Quarterback:
Gus Frerotte - Frerotte gets the dream matchup of the sad sack Detroit Lions at home. The Vikings won't show any mercy as they are trying to re-establish themselves ...
Here are our predictions for Week 5 on the players who should perform above current expectations, based on the match ups for the week. If you are lacking depth at a particular position, and have to choose from a group of players who "all look the same", give these guys consideration.
Quarterback:
Brian Griese - In week 3 he threw the ball 67 times, and in week 4 he came back down to earth with some meager totals. The Buccaneer's week 5 matchup in Denver should ...
Here are our predictions for Week 4 on the players who should perform above current expectations, based on the match ups for the week. If you are lacking depth at a particular position, and have to choose from a group of players who "all look the same", give these guys consideration.

Last week we made some seriously good calls, predicting 2 TD's from Clinton Portis, and big games from Justin Gage, John Carlson, and Julius Jones. Here are this weeks calls:
Here are our predictions for Week 2 on the players who should perform above current expectations, based on the match ups for the week. If you are lacking depth at a particular position, and have to choose from a group of players who "all look the same", give these guys consideration.
Quarterback:
Kerry Collins - Vince Young is out and Kerry Collins is in. He gets a nice matchup against a weak Cincinnatti defense where the Titans
will likely have to throw the ...
Here are our predictions for Week 1 on the players who should perform above current expectations, based on the match ups for the week. If you are lacking depth at a particular position, and have to choose from a group of players who "all look the same", give these guys consideration.
Quarterback:
Jeff Garcia - The Bucs are on the road at New Orleans. The Saints have a questionable defense but strong offense, which means that the Bucs will have to ring up some ...
We've officially hit the "sweet spot" of fantasy draft season. At this time, we thought it would be interesting to share
with you a sampling of an actual high-stakes league draft that was kicked off Monday, August 25, and the draft is in progress. The league scoring is WCOFF
based, so if you are one of the many participating in a WCOFF branded event (live or satellite), take notice. You
may be surprised at where some of the players you are targeting as sleepers are actually being drafted.
Peyton Manning finally started practicing (more like walking at practice) this week for the Indianapolis Colts, as he is recovering from surgery to remove an infected bursa sac from his left knee. Now the talk is about him actually playing in Week 1. One would think that he would certainly be in there given that they are opening up a new stadium, and he has a consecutive games streak in progress. He has started all 160 games of his career. However the season is just a couple of weeks away. And if ...
* Santonio Holmes is a stud. This guy will be drafted among the elite receivers next year. Get him this year at a slightly reduced price, because he's still going to perform like one of the elites.
* Brett Favre's first action with the Jets reinforced our assumptions that Jerricho Cotchery would be a big beneficiary from Favre's presence. He'll be a strong option at WR for you in the 5th-6th round of your drafts. Dustin Keller looks like a nice sleeper at TE as well. Favre has always liked ...
Having a successful fantasy football season begins with having a successful draft. You can't win your league on draft day, but you can certainly lose it. Having a good draft requires preparation. The experts at FantasyMojo.com generally follow 4 steps in preparing for a draft. You will of course need to mix in some good waiver wire work (a topic for another day), strong lineup decision making, and a little bit of luck to win. But if you begin by following these steps, you will come out of your draft ...

Brett Favre is in, and Chad Pennington is out. Much of the attention from the quarterback switch for the Jets has centered around how the Jets will do with Brett Favre. However, you need to pay attention to what impact this has down in Miami. It has significant fantasy implications. Keep in mind that a player's fantasy potential, in large part, comes from being put in a position to succeed. With the three headed monster of John Beck, Chad Henne, and Josh McCown competing against each other for the ...
Tennessee's Chris Johnson looked like he was running twice as fast as everyone else on the field during his 66 yard TD run. That's one explosive player. He should definitely be a guy to target once the "name" RB's are off the board. Talk about upside!
David Garrard was looking very "Michael Vick Like" with his rushing. Only thing is, Garrard has the legs AND can throw the ball consistently. If you find yourself missing out on some of the top QB's in your draft, hold off and take ...
It's great to finally be able to watch NFL football again, but from a fantasy perspective you need to stay focused and maintain a proper perspective on what you are watching. From a fantasy perspective, much of what you see in the preseason is just that, fantasy, and you will not be seeing many of those players performing similarly (or at all) during the regular season.
Stay focused, you know who the key players are. Your attention should be directed towards those players who are currently ...
Well, it would seem that the Big 5 or "Top Tier" running back group is quickly becoming a Big 4. With Steven Jackson's continued holdout, and no negotiations having been held since July 25, it is officially time to start crafting Plan B for your fantasy draft if your draft position is 3 or later. This is a holdout which seems to have some legs to it.
If recent holdouts are any indication of what to expect afterwards, you should be very leary of drafting Jackson. Recall that Larry Johnson held ...
We originally published this article on July 27, but given that one of our prophecies has already come true, we though it worthwhile to repost it now that the first preseason game is behind us.
Every season there are players we tend to shy away from, and players we favor in drafts. Having already completed 3 league drafts this year (either Draftmasters or Survivor), we'd like to share with you those players who we seem to be consistently passing on, or definitely grabbing when presented with ...
Once you get past the obvious choices in your draft at running back, and are left to choose from the "wild cards", one of the backs you should target is Pierre Thomas from New Orleans. In the high powered offense of the Saints, the running back position yields generous output, even with limited touches. Some factoids to consider in Pierre's favor:
* Everyone is Ga-Ga over Rashard Mendenhall. Did you know that Pierre Thomas started ahead of him at Illinois?
Twenty four members of the Fantasy Players Network recently held an online "slow" draft in the inaugural FANTASY PLAYERS NETWORK DRAFT CHALLENGE. The league is a "DraftMasters" or "Best Ball" type of league, where you draft a larger than usual roster of players (25 total), and your weekly lineup is automatically generated with your best performing players for the week.
The competition divides the 24 network sites into two twelve team divisions. ...
Every season there are players we tend to shy away from, and players we favor in drafts. Having already completed 3 league drafts this year (either Draftmasters or Survivor), we'd like to share with you those players who we seem to be consistently passing on, or definitely grabbing when presented with the opportunity. Keep in mind we'll take one of the players we dislike if the value is good enough, and they're still on the board much later than they should be. Similarly, we may pull the trigger ...
Our good friends over at FantasyAuctioneer.com have provided us with their initial
analysis of the Fantasy Auction Market here in July. Take a a gander at what the studs (and duds) are going for at the onset of draft season.
The AAVs to the right are based on about a dozen expert auctions we have hosted
for different magazines and websites to date. It's not as big a sample as what we'll have in August, but considering the
"expert" ...
With the recent grumblings coming out of the Philadelphia Eagles camp regarding Brian Westbrook's dissatisfaction with his current contract (5 years / 25 million), there is some speculation that Westbrook may hold out of camp. There's no doubt that he deserves more, but the fact is that he's 29, with some history of injury, so he won't get the LT type deal he's seeking. Some compromise will be made though, we're sure.
From a fantasy perspective, this is a good thing. Many positives can come ...
FantasyMojo was recently was invited to participate in a 16-round, 12-team expert mock draft as a tune-up for the 2008 fantasy season.
The draft was hosted by MockDraftCentral.com (who we consistently promote as a valuable site for you to visit to prep for your draft).
We were assigned the 5th pick in the draft. The scoring system was Non-PPR, so we wanted to target guys who generate points ...
It used to be that your running backs were the core of your fantasy team, and you drafted them early and often. In recent years however, the urgency of drafting your running backs early seems to have lessened. Fantasy football and the role of running backs are changing, as a result of the game of football itself changing.
In previous years, the talent pool for running backs was so scarce, that if you didn't lock them up early on draft day, then you were out of luck. More recently, however, ...
One of the first high profile expert league drafts is in the books and ready for review. The FantasyGuru.com Magazine Expert Draft League is a perennial league with some high profile participants. It's not just a mock draft as they really play this league out, so we think something like this has more value than a mock.
FantasyMojo.com would like to make you aware of a new High Stakes league being formed for this year, similar to WCOFF or NFFC, but this league is being founded by some of the premier fantasy football players. It a league for players, by players. The following summary has been taken from their site directly. Check it out.
Ever win a fantasy league and not receive all your winnings? Well how about realizing your dream of winning $100,000 in a national competition, and having to consider not getting that money?
An interesting story is playing out in the high stakes segment of the fantasy sports industry. Apparently, AFFL (American Fantasy Football League), has informed its winners that it is delaying payment of cash prizes (some winners up to $100,000), as it seeks out investors to help cover a shortfall that ...
Thanks to everyone for making FantasyMojo.com's second year another success. We hope everyone enjoyed our weekly salary cap contest. Although the regular season is over, fantasy football continues through the playoffs.
We will be running an NFL Playoff fantasy football contest for anyone who wants to extend their fantasy season.
The playoff format is slightly different than the regular season. In the playoffs, you will select a team before the playoffs begin, and your rosters will be ...
Here are our predictions for Week 16 on the neglected, downtrodden, forgotten about players who should perform above current expectations.
Quarterbacks
Sage Rosenfels - He's throwing to Andre Johnson and this week they have to play the Colts. They'll try to control the game with the run, but likely will have to air it out at some point to catch up. He's almost a lock for 2 TD's.
Here are our predictions for Week 15 on the neglected, downtrodden, forgotten about players who should perform above current expectations.
Quarterbacks
Trent Edwards - It's a good matchup against the Cleveland Browns so the Bills should have to spend much of their day throwing the ball. Need a late season sleeper, give Trent a try.
Running Backs
Jerious Norwood - The Falcons may scale back their playbook ...
Here are our predictions for Week 14 on the neglected, downtrodden, forgotten about players who should perform above current expectations.
Quarterbacks
Donovan McNabb - He's down but not out. A couple of weeks watching from the sidelines should have McNabb's head back on straight. He's still one of the most potent fantasy quarterbacks out there. If he's available in your league and you need a QB, grab him. At this point he's showcasing himself for ...
For those of you in fantasy leagues that use a playoff format (most do), it's
time to remind yourself of some "best practices" that you should follow if
you are in the playoffs, or jockeying for playoff positioning. We practice
what we preach at Fantasymojo.com. We've generally been successful in the
leagues that we participate in this year. This past week we won the league
title in a WCOFF on-line satellite league, taking home a cool $2,000 (with
opportunity for more in ongoing ...
Here are our predictions for Week 11 on the neglected, downtrodden, forgotten about players who should perform above current expectations.
Quarterbacks
Philip Rivers - Not a lot of people of people noticed, but Rivers had a pretty decent game last week. This week he gets Baltimore at home, and these guys have been getting rocked lately. We think his confidence will carry over to this week as well.
Here are our predictions for Week 11 on the neglected, downtrodden, forgotten about players who should perform above current expectations.
Quarterbacks
Rex Grossman - The Bears were unable to move the ball with Brian Griese, and as a result they couldn't get their running game on track either. Grossman ought to be able to stretch the field and put up some decent passing numbers.
Here are our predictions for Week 10 on the neglected, downtrodden, forgotten about players who should perform above current expectations.
Quarterbacks
Kurt Warner - What a miserable game by him last week. This week however, is setting up to be somewhat of a shootout against the Detroit Lions. Give Kurt a chance. Brenda will have something to cheer about.
Here are our predictions for Week 9 on the neglected, downtrodden, forgotten about players who should perform above current expectations.
Quarterbacks
J.P. Losman - Losman gets to go against the horrific Bengals defense this week, and with Lee Evans coming around, he should be a nice fallback option if you're looking for one this week.
Running Backs
Ryan Grant - Like Jesse Chatman last week, Ryan ...
Here are our predictions for Week 8 on the neglected, downtrodden, forgotten about players who should perform above current expectations.
Quarterbacks
Marc Bulger - He's been doing nothing lately as he's been hurt and just coming off his 1st game back. But at home against Cleveland, it should be somewhat of a shootout (assuming St. Louis holds up their end of the bargain). With Steven Jackson possibly back, that should also help to possibly balance ...
Here are our predictions for Week 7 on the neglected, downtrodden, forgotten about players who should perform above current expectations.
Quarterbacks
Kyle Boller - Kyle has some game in him when he knows that he's not the main man. That will be the case this week, as he fills in for Steve McNair. Against a feeble Buffalo team, Boller should have some success out of the spotlight (which helps his delicate psyche) playing under the radar against the ...
FantasyMojo is on a bye this week with the Overachievers article. But real quickly, our gut instincts tell us to that Jason Wright (filling in for Jamal Lewis) is in for a big game against the Dolphins. ...
Here are our predictions for Week 5 on the neglected, downtrodden, forgotten about players who should perform above current expectations.
Quarterbacks
Gus Frerotte - Gus has been known in the past to come out of nowhere and put up some healthy numbers in emergency situations. This is an emergency situation, and Gus will be asked to throw it quite a bit. The Rams offense are the play of the week, not to win, but for their players to re-emerge, at ...
Here are our predictions for Week 4 on the neglected, downtrodden, forgotten about players who should perform above current expectations.
Quarterbacks
Joey Harrington - Joey stinks. We all know that. However, he's coming off a relatively good game at home; he's at home again against a Houston team that is riddled with injuries, and Byron Leftwich is hanging around waiting for an entry point. These factors lead us to believe that Joey will have a ...
Cedric Benson can finally focus on what he does best, drink and operate vehicles (both on land and on water). Pictured above is Cedric in all his glory. A well deserved mugshot that he can truly be proud of.
The Bears have released this underachieving, professionally immature player. Now, it seems, the Bear running game has little direction. Can Matt Forte really come in and take the job? It would seem more likely that the Bears ...
The first two weeks of the season have offered up some disappointing peformances from traditionally reliable performers. In our Week 3 Overachievers article, we offer up some players who have underachieved thus far, and should perform more in line of what was expected of them during fantasy drafts this preseason.
Quarterbacks
Rex Grossman - He's at home again, and the Dallas offense should put up more points than the lowly Chiefs did. This means ...
Team situations come slightly more into focus after an exciting week 1. We think we gave you some pretty good calls last week (Moss and Curry especially). Here are our overachievers for week 2. Remember, these are off the radar (or downtrodden) guys who should help you out if you are looking to fill that last roster spot at a given position.
Quarterbacks
Jeff Garcia - Last week Peyton Manning abused the New Orleans secondary like a rented mule. This ...
Each week we'll grade our predictions (in red), Pass, Fail, or Incomplete to keep track of how successful our predictions were.
Finally, Week 1 of the NFL season is here. Your draft(s) are likely complete at this point, and its time to ponder who to start for week 1. Each week we'll provide our updated weekly rankings, usually by Tuesday night, sometimes earlier. We'll also try to give you a few under the radar plays to consider when starting your lineup on a weekly basis. ...
Because it's a critical time of year and there are tons of drafts going on this weekend, we thought we'd share with you all the actual draft results of a 20 round online draft for a well known fantasy competition that we just completed. Its PPR scoring, with roster requirements of 1 QB / 2 RB / 3 WR / 1 TE / 1 Flex / 1 K / 1 D . We've removed the team names to protect the innocent, lest their drafting tendencies be revealed. There's a substantial entry fee (hundreds) involved with this league, so ...
All too often, when preparing for a draft, owners zero in on player projections and rankings. True, this represents the primary driver for player selection. But except for monitoring bye weeks, a very small percentage of owners actually consider the NFL schedule when choosing their players.
In a head to head format, where overall record determines your final standings, it is critical to get off to a good start for the season. And what do you do once the season starts? Play the players who ...
Today NFL Sirius radio broadcasted from the Denver Broncos camp. We were only able to catch the conversations with the GM Ted Sundquist and some of Jay Cutler, but a lot of good tidbits were thrown out there. These guys are ridiculously high on Travis Henry. It almost seemed like it was a Travis Henry infomercial. Sundquist commented that they were disappointed with their performance last year and in the offseason wanted to change their style to reflect one of authority. Sunquist specifically noted ...
As training camps begin to get underway, there is quite a bit of activity to consider from a fantasy perspective. The fantasy value of players rise and fall each day based on what's happening in training camp. It's important to keep an eye on the players being held out for various injuries (minor and severe). It's also important to keep tabs on what the coaches are saying about the players. A lot of times they will tip their hand as to who they consider the leaders in various position battles. Here ...
Do you think you're good at fantasy football? Do you always seem to do well in your local league, Yahoo, or ESPN league? Eventually, the really skilled fantasy players get to the point where they crave a challenge that goes beyond beating up on their local buddies. Let's face it, the "dope factor" can be pretty high in these leagues sometimes. Sure it's fun to take their money and run, but don't you crave something more of a challenge? It may be time you promote yourself to the big leagues and ...
The popularity of auction drafts is increasing in the fantasy football
world. It's part of an evolution from traditional re-draft leagues, with
their usual serpentine drafting style, to a format that's more
interactive. While traditional redraft leagues are great, many have come
to know that there are some deficiencies with this format (such as a
distinct advantage to owners who pick at the beginning of the draft), and
are venturing into the auction format.
Is a panic about to ripple through the fantasy football community? The news of a possible Larry Johnson holdout is already having an impact on his draft position. Panic might be too strong a word, but 'concern' is definitely there. First reported here, LJ is slated to make $1.7 mil this year. A paltry sum given his responsibilities. And what are the Chiefs alternatives, throw in fragile Michael ...
Lot’s of notable names in this draft. Its a REAL league.
Here’s the lineup of participants.
Line-Up & Rules
Line-Up: 1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1Flex (rb/wr), 1TE, 1K, 1Def
Scoring: 1pt per 10ru/receiving, 1pt per 20pass, 6pts for all TDs, NO PPR
(Note that there was some trading of picks, hence the odd positioning of teams)
Donovan McNabb spoke again on local radio Monday morning (6/4) here in Philly.
It was about a 25 minute interview and covered a variety of topics.
Since we are a fantasy website, we'll touch on those things which we think have a fantasy impact.
Wide Receiver corps and the loss of Donte Stallworth - Donovan was envious of guys like Carson Palmer and Peyton Manning who have had the opportunity to work with their guys year after year. He had very high praise for Reggie Brown and ...
There's a new attraction in Virginia.
No, its not at Busch Gardens. It's called pit bull fighting and
it's at 1915 Moonlight Rd, Smithfield, VA 23430. I believe the house was formally deeded to someone named RON MEXICO.
Enter the gates of this seemingly harmless home and make your way
to the back of the property. See those black buildings?
What do you think Michael Vick and "crew" have going on in there?
I ...

This is must listen radio for those following the McNabb drama. Pretty entertaining stuff in a conversation with local personality Howard Eskin (an ESPN wannabe).
Talk about the icing on the cake after an impressive NFL Free Agent season. People have talked about Tom Brady in "Montana-Like" terms in the past, but now the Patriots have surrounded him with an arsenal as potent as the legendary 49ers.
For a meager 4th round pick, the Patriots picked up a potentially deadly receiver. Put this bargain into perspective; they gave up a 2nd AND 7th round pick for Wes Welker.
We saw what the Patriots were able to accomplish ...
Despite circumstantial evidence like this picture, and the fact that his NFL tenure began in San Francisco, his play at the end of the season suggests some manliness after all.
Meanwhile, his biggest "fan", Terrell Owens was taking it easy in his hyperbaric chamber, watching Jeff lead the Eagles on a strong playoff run. Garcia is off to Tampa to spread some love there, but the Eagles picked up that stud Kelly Holcomb, so there is some worry about ...
