2009 Fantasy Players Network Draft Challenge FAQ

What Is It?

The Fantasy Players Network Draft Challenge is the 'Battle Royal' of Expert Leagues. Only teams that are a part of the Fantasy Players Network are eligible. This year we have 36 teams participating. The overall field is divided into 3 separate 'Divisions'. Each division of 12 conducts their own draft. The highest scoring team across the 3 divisions is crowned the Fantasy Players Network Draft Challenge Champion.

Here are links to colorized draft grids revealing the selections from each division. Enjoy.

What Is The Format?

The format is a "DraftMasters" (or Best Ball). In this format, your best performing players at each position are automatically used for your lineup, based on that week's results. Points are calculated through week 16. This is a total points league, you do not 'compete' againt any other individual team in a given week. You are shooting for total points accumulated over the year. The highest scoring team across the 3 divisions, at the end of 16 weeks, is crowned the Fantasy Players Network Draft Challenge Champion There are no waiver wire pickups, or setting of lineups each week. There are no trades, or trading of picks. You do not spend any time managing your team during the season. This is a draft it and forget it league, showcasing your drafting skills, and preseason assessment of players. No babysitting of your team is required, and we can all sit back and follow the standings as the season progresses.

What Are The Roster Requirements?

You will draft 25 players in a standard serpentine format. The 25 players you draft are the 25 players that will be on your team the entire year. Again, there are no waiver wire moves. "Draft It and Forget It", right? We are following the format based on the WCOFF Draftmasters Leagues. Of those 25 players, the system will automatically fill out your lineup with your best performing players at each position. Your weekly lineup will consist of the following:

  • 1 QB
  • 2 RB
  • 3 WR
  • 1 TE
  • 1 Flex (RB,WR,TE)
  • 1 K
  • 1 D

    What Is The Scoring System?

Our scoring system is WCOFF scoring. Basically this is a Points Per Reception league. For the gory details, you can go here, but so long as you know the benefits of PPR, you are good to go.

    What About The Draft Itself?

Each league conducts its own 25 round live draft on MyFantasyLeague.com. Each league is password protected so that only those sites belonging to that league can view its own draft results. Each franchise will be emailed their logon credentials, league assignment, and draft slot. If you do not get this information, contact your friendly league commish at webmaster@fantasymojo.com.

The 25 round live drafts will be done in serpentine fashion, and each franchise is permitted 1.5 minutes per pick. If you do not make your pick in time, your spot will be skipped, and you will have to notifiy the commish who you want, using the live chat feature that is in the live draft room.

Once the drafts themselves are done, we will be consolidating all three 'leagues' into the overall master league, and each league will consist of a division within the overall master league. Check out last year's link to see how things looks once the merge is complete. In the master league, we can easily see all teams in an overall, combined leader board.
