Week 13 Sleepers

Here are our predictions for Week 13 on a few players who are either under the radar, or are in unusual scenarios this week that put them in a position for some upside. If you are lacking depth at a particular position, give these guys consideration if available.

Quarterback:

Donovan McNabb - Most people would be scared off of McNabb given his recent turmoil, but there are a lot of motivators for the Eagles in their next game. It's a high profile Thanksgiving game. His job is on the line. His RB's are beat up so he'll be throwing a lot. He's playing against the Cardinals so he'll be throwing a lot (and their pass D is forgiving). You get the picture. We think he's good for a couple TD's here. Vegas has the Eagles as a 3 point favorite with an over/under of 47. Those points are going to come from the passing game.

Running Back:

Lorenzo Booker - Brian Westbrook had to play nearly the full game last week because Correll Buckhalter got hurt. This week, Buckhalter will be out, and the Eagles will have little choice but to limit Westbrook to an extent. (He may play in a wheelchair). That means some significant playing time for Booker. Although the Eagles haven't really utilized him up to this point, they have no choice. In this fantasy friendly matchup, he'll end up with double digit fantasy points. Check out what he did at the end of last year for the Dolphins, when they were in a similar position having to use him. Nearly 7 catches a game during the last month of the season.

Mewelde Moore - Willie Parker is hurting again. That means Mewelde Moore will likely get the call and put up 10-20 fantasy points, just like he has every other game he has started for Parker. Even if Parker does start, we don't think he'll last.

Wide Receiver:

Josh Reed - Reed is heating up again, and the Bills are hitting their stride in the passing game. They've got the 49ers at home, so they should be able to move the ball with relative ease again. He's a good bet for double digits in a PPR league.

Ashley Lelie - Javon Walker is finished, and Lelie is starting for the Raiders. Jamarcus Russell is starting to come on a little, so Lelie is viable, and his matchup against the KC Chief secondary looks good.

Tight End:

Jerramy Stevens - Alex Smith is still hurting, and the Bucs are really utilizing their tight ends as of late. If you need an upside guy at tight end, Stevens may be available on your waiver wire. Against the Saints, this week, the Bucs will be passing more than usual.

Defense:

Cowboys - The Cowboys D really tailed off in recent weeks, but it looks like things are turning around for them now with Romo back and the overall confidence of the team on the upswing. In a high profile Thanksgiving Day game against the sad sack Seahawks, we think a defensive score will happen for the Cowboys.
