Pros Vs Joes Update |
2009 FFPC Pros vs Joes - It's Over!
The FFPC Pros vs Joes Challenge (in conjunction with Fantasymojo.com) has concluded with the results in following week 16. To review briefly, these drafts pit the players at the FFPC (the Joes) against an assortment of industry experts (the Pros). Each league consists of 12 teams which conduct a 26 round draft in a DraftExperts format (best ball scoring). The scoring and lineup configuration is based on FFPC rules. A bundle of prizes and bragging rights are on the line, as well the prestige of being crowned the 2009 FFPC Pros vs Joes Draft Challenge Champion. All the gory details can be found HERE. This was truly a groundbreaking event. The FFPC is a high stakes fantasy league that is essentially an all star assortment of high stakes fantasy players. If you want to be test your fantasy wits with the best, this is the place to go. When FantasyMojo.com offered to mediate (and participate in) this battle royal between the Joes and Pros, the response was fast and furious. Now, after sixteen weeks of back and forth, the results are in. The overall winner is a Joe. He is Joe Delzenero AKA Baker Boy. Here is the team Baker Boy drafted way back in July, that turned out to be the perfect blend of players to score big on a consistent basis, and turned in the higher overall point total.
Flacco, Joe BAL QB
Rodgers, Aaron GBP QB Smith, Alex SFO QB
Brown, Donald IND RB
Berrian, Bernard MIN WR
Clark, Dallas IND TE
Akers, David PHI PK
Bengals, Cincinnati CIN Def Recall that in this DraftExperts format, your lineup is automatically filled in each week with your best performing players at each position. You are stuck with those players you drafted. You need adequate depth at each position to deal with the byes (or injuries), some solid studs that perform as expected, as well as some upside guys to exceed expectations. Baker Boy's team seems to have all these attributes. It's a team that avoided injury (more than most other teams), had studs who performed (Rodgers, Gore, Wayne, Clark), and landed a few guys who broke out (Flacco, Forsett, Collie, Steve Smith, Jermichael Finley). The overall standings are as follows:
Across the six divisions (of 12 teams), 4 Pros won their division, and 2 Joes won theirs. The division winners were: Joe Delzenero (AKA Baker Boy), Rich Dunn (AKA AzRich), LestersLegends.com, FantasyFootballCalculator.com, DynastyRogues.com, and FootballGuys.com . Original Draft Boards
